Cameroon-Nigeria : Njoya Ajara To Miss Double Header

Due to the injury, the star striker has been replaced in the Lionesses’ den by Flora Kameni for the matches counting for the third round qualifiers of the Olympic Games.

 

The Cameroon senior women’s national team has received a big blow as they prepare for the double confrontation against Nigeria, counting for the third-round qualifiers of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.  In effect, Nchout Njoya Ajara, who constitutes one of the major pillars of the attack and the squad in general, has been ruled out due to injury, a communique from the team yesterday February 20, 2024 confirmed the information.  She has been replaced by proficient home-based striker, Flora Kameni, who was in the reserve list.
Without Njoya Ajara, Head Coach Jean Baptiste Bisseck thus has a big bone to chew going into the double confrontation billed for February 23, 2024 in Douala and February 26, 2024 in Abuja. This is especially as Nigeria presents a highly competitive squad with reigning women’s best African player of the year, Asisat Oshoala and best African goalkeeper of the year, Chiamaka Nnadozie.
