FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments : Cameroon’s Game Schedules Known

The Basketball Lions will face Montenegro on July 3, 2024 while the game against Brazil comes up a day later in Latvia.

 

The Basketball Lions of Cameroon are placed in Group B alongside Montenegro and Brazil in their 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament to take place in Riga, Latvia. The official schedule for the matches of the two-group tournament were made public recently. On July 3, 2024, Cameroon takes on Montenegro and a day after; that is on July 4, 2024, the Lions will resurface on the basketball court to play the decisive encounter against Brazil. Group A of this Olympic Qualifying Tournament is made up of Georgia, Philippines and host, Latvia. At the end of the group phase, the best two teams in each group will play the semifinals and the winners will progress to the final. The victorious team at the end automatically books its ticket to the 2024 Men’s Olympic Basketball Tournament.
It should be recalled that Cameroon beat Senegal in the FIBA Olympic Pre-Qualifying final in Lagos, Nigeria in August 2023. This victory earned Cameroon a spot in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQTs).
