Golf : Nkoabe Course Officially Inaugurated

Nkoabe, a village located in the Ngomedzap Subdivision, Nyong and So’o Division of the Centre Region has been blessed with a golf course that will go a long way to vulgarise the sports and boost development of the community. Dubbed the Nkoabe Golf Course, the infrastructure was officially inaugurated yesterday March 10, 2024 by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi. It is an initiative of an elite of the locality, the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Grégoire Owona. Mindful of the importance of sports to the community and the nation in general, the ceremony was attended by top government officials alongside other high profile dignitaries of the country.
In his speech, the promoter of the golf course, Minister Grégoire Owona explained that the initiative to construct the 3,950m course with 18 holes was birthed when he came for confinement in his village during the Covid-19 pandemic. Being versed with the importance of sports especially in the domain of health, he got inspired to construct the infrastructure. In fact, the politician is known to be highly development oriented, extending his blessings to his people and beyond. Minister Owona said with the introduction of golf in the Olympics, the course will serve as a nursery for Cameroonian golfers who could be champions tomorrow. After his speech, he officially signed the documents and handed the keys of the infrastructure to the pioneer President of the Nkoabe Golf Club, Robert Lacroux. 
On his part, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education saluted the efforts of Minister Grégoire Owona, who is an elite determined to see his nation shine. He said such initiatives from elite are crucial to the social and economic development of the country. H...
