Wouri Women Talk Financial Autonomy

They hammered on the topic during the last preparatory meeting for the Division on March 1, 2017.

Women from the six Sub Divisions that make up the Wouri Division chatted in length on the need to be financially autonomous during the last preparatory meeting at the Senior Divisional Officer’s Office. “We will never attain planet 50/50 if we keep depending on our husbands for finances,” the Divisional Delegate of Wouri, Mbogbe Mbogbe née Mbenoun Angèle Marie reiterated during the meeting. The meeting that was geared towards assessing the level of preparedness of each Sub Division, indicated that they have been carrying out various activities to mark the day’s celebration such as football matches, sensitisation campaigns on cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, hypertension and hepatitis B. All the Sub Divisions have equally sensitised women of their respective areas on the theme of the 2017 edition; “Women in a Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030.”
