MTN Elite One : Who Will Be Champions?

A total of eight teams will be battling for the championship title when the competition rumbles off in Douala this weekend.


The MTN Elite championships have reached the final bend with the play-offs that kick off today, March 22, 2024 in the West, Littoral and Centre regions. The play-offs Up in Elite One will bring together eight teams that will battle for the 2024 championship title. Among the teams are regulars; Coton Sport of Garoua and Canon of Yaounde, new comers Dynamo FC of Douala and Victoria United and outsiders, Stade Renard of Melong, Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda and Colombe of Dja and Lobo. 
Originally scheduled to begin on March 15, 2024, the MTN Elite play-offs tournament was postponed to March 22, 2024 due to cases that were stiell pending at the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber (CCA) of the National Olympic and Sports Committee. The cases were filed by disgruntled clubs to contest the decisions of the homologation committee of the federation but their complaints were rejected before the sports court.
Another heated moment was the publication of a provisional list of players eligible to take part in the different play-offs tournaments, which kept aside some 62 players accused of double identity.
