South West : Youth Receive Lessons On Courtship

The Apostolic Church in Cameroon has observed that many marriages are going through turbulent waters leaving the couples in problems. Many couples got married without proper guidance and/or knowing themselves fully. As such, the marriages end with divorces which is against Christian teachings. To reverse this disturbing trend, TACC has instituted a Single Forum where by courtship and engagement are discussed. They also look at challenges and prospects during courtships.
Reverend Mboke Bernard was guest speaker at TACC Bakweri Town Single Forum interactions on Sunday June 16, 2024. He indicated that courtship has two phases. The circular and Christian courtships. He looked at what the world talks about courtship and also presented the Biblical view, attributing definitions to each courtship. On Christian courtship, he said it is a time that would-be couples know themselves without sexual intercourse. He prescribed guidelines such as number of children and how to bring them up, finances, short and long terms goals, cleanliness, conflict resolution, accountability, health and sexuality, spirituality which are to be discussed extensively during courtship.
