U18 AfroBasket 2024 : Cameroon Steps Up Preparations

The national teams are fine-tuning their skills ahead of the competition that will take place in South Africa next month.
The national U18 men’s and women’s basketball teams will participate in the upcoming U-18 AfroBasket tournament that will take place in South Africa from September 1 - 15, 2024. One month to the competition, the two teams are training intensively at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex since August 6, 2024. The men’s U18 team will be returning to the competition 30 years after its last participation while the women’s U18 team will be appearing in the competition for the first time.
The pre-selected players are drawn from the ranks of the teams taking part in the national youth championships. The aim of the Cameroon Basketball Federation is to make the South African event an opportunity to learn about high-level competition. It will be an opportunity for the young players to express themselves at the International level and prepare for the future. Reports say the U18 Girls and Boys have been preparing calmly and in good spirits for their participation in the U18 AfroBasket in South Africa in a few weeks' time.
