Mfoundi: Athletes Confirm Support For President Biya

 Over 400 athletes from across the country took part in a semi marathon race in Yaounde on March 24, 2017

 

The esplanade of the Yaounde City Council was the kick-off point of sports activities to mark the 32nd anniversary of the CPDM party in Yaounde on Friday March 24, 2017. Close to 500 athletes from across the country came out to show their support for  President Paul Biya.
It all began with the mini marathon at 7:15 a.m. at the signal of the Secretary General of the CPDM party Jean Kueté. The athletes ran through some streets of Yaounde covering a distance of 21km. The brass band from the National School of Youth and Sports and traditional dance groups from Yaounde and its environs animated the event.
At the end of the competition, Pierre Tchoga finished first in 49’45”. He was followed by Tchikoua Felix 51’24” and Joseph Tamba 51’32”. In the ladies category, Stephanie Nguelifack emerged winner. Ngong Sylveria was second and Claudine Bongben Tumla occupied the third position. In the roller skates category, Kilo Bigi Titus finished the race in 13’41”. In the ladies category, Marina Genevieve arrived first in 18’27”. Sports for the disabled were not left out.
