Feast of the Sacrifice: Call for Peace

This was said during prayers at different prayer grounds in Douala on June 6.

Muslim faithful in the Littoral region joined their counterparts worldwide to celebrate the Feast of the Sacrifice. Eid al-Adha, or the Feast of the Sacrifice, commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to Allah. Just as he was about to make the sacrifice, Allah intervened, providing a ram instead. This significant event highlights themes of obedience, faith, sacrifice, and generosity. During Eid al-Adha, Muslims perform the Eid prayer, sacrifice an animal, and distribute its meat to others, promoting compassion, gratitude, and community bonding. At the prayer held at the Bonanjo Government Esplanade, the Governor of the Littoral region, Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua, and other administrative authorities, joined the Muslim community in prayer.
