Cameroon-UN Cooperation : Social Protection Takes Centre Stage

This was the focus of an audience between the Minister of Labour and Social Security and the UN Resident Coordinator in Cameroon recently.
The United Nations System Resident Coordinator in Cameroon, Dr. Issa Sanogo has updated the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Grégoire Owona on the United Nations Cooperation framework with Cameroon, its progress and future directions. This was during an audience between both personalities on Monday, September 30, 2025 in Yaounde.
Speaking to the press, Dr. Issa Sanogo explained that the purpose of the meeting was to update the Minister on the current UN-Cameroon Cooperation Framework, which is set to expire in 2026. "We are actively designing a new framework that will accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)," he said. The UN System Resident Coordinator added that the new framework will prioritize transitions driving progress in key areas, including enhancing social protection systems and promoting job creation to support vulnerable populations and foster economic growth.
