Balafon Music Awards: Anticipation Steams Up

The countdown to the highly anticipated Balafon Music Awards (BMA) 2025, has officially begun. Slated to take place on Wednesday, December 11, 2025, at the Best Western Hotel in Douala, the annual award night will honour excellence and innovation across the continent's vibrant music scene. The 2025 edition comprised of 108 nominations, 20 musical trophies, and over 50 artists whose artistry stands tall, promises to be a landmark event that sets a new standard for recognizing musical artistry. It will further showcase a plethora of talent including Male artist of the Year, Female artist of the year, Song of the year, best international performance, amongst others. To comprehensively celebrate the diverse talents driving the industry, several adjustments such as the strategic changes have been made to certain fields like Best Video Concept, best generational synergy, and best vocal performance in the male and female categories. This year’s edition will further experience the introduction of new categories including the Best International performance; Best Beat maker/Producer; and Holiday Hit 2025 categories.
