End-of-year Festivities : Security, Product Availability Assured

In a cabinet meeting for the month of December, chaired by the Prime Minister yesterday, government guarantees the safe movement of persons and availability of consumer goods.
As festive activities for the end-of-year approach, government has assured the population of guaranteed security and the undisturbed supply of consumer goods as well as petroleum products. The assurance was given at the end of a cabinet meeting for the month of December chaired yesterday by the Prime Minister Head of government, Joseph Dion Ngute.
A total of five presentations were made bordering around the security situation and perspectives on the protection of people and property, measures to ensure households have basic commodities and the constant supply of petroleum products, water and energy.
The security situation was presented by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence and the Minister of Territorial Administration.
Going by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji, despite the security situation being under control, administrative and law enforcement officers will continue to be vigilant and proactive. He called on the population to be collaborative for peace, security and stability to be a success. “The administrative authorities working with the forces of law and order are doing everything so that the festivities period goes on normally. We think that we have to work in total synergy. We need information gathering and this is not possible without the population. Signals of disturbances or any mischievous acts should be brought to the attention of the administrative authorities who will take appropriate measures to bring things to order,” he stated. He added that regions that experienced post-electoral tensions are now going about their activities normally and measures have been taken to maintain the calm.
On the availability of consumer products, the Ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gabriel Mbairobe, and Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industry, Dr Taiga said there is sufficient stock.
