The season for New Year's wishes is upon Cameroonians, saturating the air with a noticeable sense of excitement and anticipation. As individuals prepare to extend their warmest regards to those in positions of authority, the atmosphere is electric, with retail establishments, beauty salons, and markets thriving as people endeavour to present themselves flawlessly for the occasion.
For certain individuals, particularly women, preparations for such an occasion commenced a year ago, with the placement of orders for personalised attire from esteemed designers abroad. A Cameroonian, who opts to remain anonymous, revealed that receiving a presidential invitation for New Year’s wishes necessitates meticulous preparation for the event. In addition to placing international orders, this seemingly privileged individual took other measures to ensure an extensive wardrobe for the occasion. Before the date of the ceremony, she had acquired four dresses and remained undecided as to which one she could put on for the New Year's wishes ceremony with the First Lady. Consequently, she convened a gathering of friends for a fitting session, in order to determine which attires best compliments her figure. Whilst some individuals are relying on their designers to create a show-stopping ensemble, others are scouring various boutiques in search of the perfect dress and footwear for the occasion.
