Public Investment Projects: NW Targets 100 Per cent Execution In 2026

Officials are working hard to ensure that the region comes first in the rankings of the execution of Public Investment Projects this year.

The various actors in the execution of the Public Investment Projects in the North West Region during the second semester 2025 Regional Participatory Follow-up Committee meeting in Bamenda on February 20, 2026 adopted measures to ensure the optimal execution rate of the projects. They want to improve on the score 86.19 per cent in the physical realization rate of the Public Investment Projects in 2025 that put the North West Region at the third position nationally. The Committee members were examining the realization of 607 Public Investment Projects allocated to the region in 2025 financial year for a total amount of FCFA 16.6 billion. Results indicate that out of the total number of projects, 483 of them have been completely executed, 100 are ongoing and 24 projects are still to start. It was disclosed that six councils were at 100 per cent physical execution. The committee members are working hard to ensure that the North West scores 100 per cent in the physical realization of the projects despite persistent challenges such as prolonged lockdown days (36 days in 2025), very slow rate of payment of contractors bills and delays in the award of contracts.
