Dr Blessed Okole, Special Adviser Prime Minister’s Office and Chairperson of the Inter-ministerial Committee for the Wassandé Wheat Project.
“We started the visit by going to Wassandé to check the Wheat Project that IRAD is carrying out and we were very impressed by what we saw there. We also learnt that they have already produced enough basic seeds which are going to be distributed to the farmers, we need to multiply. But we also learned enough about IRAD’s activities. This is not the first time Cameroon is starting the production of wheat seeds. We have been doing it for long but the success has not been good. We learned about the challenges and experiences there.
