Kumba: 21st Support Battalion Commander Installed

Major Epada Moukengue Yannick was commissioned recently into his new role by the Commander of the 21st Motorized Infantry Brigade, Colonel Enye’e Meka Manuel at the Kumba Grandstand.

Strict to the military tradition, the commissioning ceremony attended by the Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) of Meme, Chamberlin Ntou’o Ndong and other administrative, judicial and municipal dignitaries of the city was brief. After the reading of the March 31 decree by the President of the Republic and Commander-in chief of the Armed Forces, the incoming commander was presented to the forces and instructed to take command by the presiding officer. The military ritual was then proceeded by the commissioning speech wherein, the Commander of the 21st Motorized Infantry Brigade, Col. Enye’e Meka Manuel noted that the appointment of Major Epada comes at a time the country is confronted with multiple threats, citing the separatist armed conflict in the North West and South West. Heading an important battalion as such, the new commander was urged to maintain discipline among his elements as well as respect rights accorded to personnel by the high command. Major Epada was further enjoined to ensure the protection of not only State institutions but also persons and their property.
