Colonel Mbarga Benjamin Patrick: Practical Security Officer

Colonel Mbarga Benjamin Patrick of the National Gendarmerie will on May 20, 2026 during the military parade, act as the Second in Command of troops at the boulevard in Yaounde. He will be acting in that capacity for the first time. Born on December 16, 1976 in Yaounde, he counts over 25 years of experience in military command, national security, protection of State personalities, maintaining order and the management of crisis. Colonel Mbarga Benjamin Patrick has expertise in strategic planning, coordination, complex operations and security of sensitive infrastructure such as airports, ports and conflict zones. As per his academic qualifications, he has a Masters II in International Security from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) as at 2026, and a degree in Bilingual Studies from the University of Yaounde I, obtained in 2008. He has also taken part in international trainings on various fields such as criminal justice, the fight against terrorism, professional intervention and the protection of very important personalities, and post-conflict stabilisation from institutions like the FBI National Academy, University of Virginia, all in the United State, and the International School for Security Forces.
