State House Reception: Celebrating Solidarity!

President Paul Biya and spouse last evening communed with compatriots and friends of the country after the lively march-past at the Yaounde May 20 Boulevard and across the country.
Ecstasy enveloped the air at the State House in Yaounde last evening as thousands thronged to celebrate National Day with the Head of State and wife. The reception the Presidential couple offered after the colourful march-past at the 20th May Avenue, gave the attendees the opportunity to meet closely and commune among themselves as well as with their leader. In fact, the Banquet Hall and adjacent garden of the State House became theatres of national fraternity as thousands of Cameroonians and friends of the country honoured the invitation of the Presidential couple, Paul and Chantal Biya. It was a blend of people of all walks of life who visibly left their daily activities to celebrate the country’s diversity. Diverse people from many backgrounds with one goal-unity. The food and drinks served the Head of State’s guests were aplenty and depicted Cameroon’s diversity and richness. Beyond savouring the rich Cameroon cuisine, the invitees of the Head of State and wife equally used the State House reception to meet each other, chat and obviously take rendezvous for deeper ties thereafter to further solidify living together. Old friendships were revived and new ones created. An occasion that may bear better fruits in the short, medium and long terms. More so, in line with the theme of the 54th National Day, “National Unity: Backbone of our Defence System, Bedrock of Cameroon’s Development.” The joy of communing with the highest authority of the country was perceptible in the enthusiasm and attendance. As a matter of fact, the esplanade and gate to the State House were beehive-like from the moment the entry points were flung open for the invitees to start streaming in.
