North West Regional Assembly: 2026 Budget Increases To FCFA 20 Billion

The revelation was made during the 2025 account session that took place in Bamenda from May 25- 29, 2026.

The North West Regional Assembly has reiterated its commitment to remain a people- centered institution working for the interest of the population. The March 2026 ordinary session for the 2025 accounts held from May 25- 29, 2026 in Bamenda. For four days, members of the institution also adjusted the budget for this year to FCFA 20 billion President of the Executive Council of the North West Regional Assembly, Professor Fru Angwafo III remarked that the facts are evidence that decentralisation is here. He urged members of the various communities to translate the budget to projects that will improve on the lives of the vulnerable, internally displaced persons, the physically challenged and most importantly changing the lives of the citizens. At the closing plenary sitting, Prof Fru Angwafo III expressed satisfaction following a successful session which according him was a landmark one because it was the first session of the year and the first session of the second mandate. "It provided the opportunity for the assembly to review the Regional Executive Council account on management of resources and implementation of activities undertaken during the previous financial year," said the President. He further said that the session was very impactful because it gave way for the 2026 budget adjustment that will probably boost livelihoods of people living in the region.
