GCE 2026: Written Phase Begins Today

There are a total of 208 761 candidates nationwide on the starting block to take the examinations.

Students in the English subsystem of education in Cameroon in examination classes (Form 5 and upper sixth) are today, June 2, 2026, beginning the written phase of end-ofcourse examinations organized by the Cameroon General Certificate of Education Board. The examinations to be written throughout the national territory has 208, 761 candidates. This is against 213, 361 candidates in 2025, giving a drop of 4, 600 candidates. The Cameroon General Certificate of Education Board runs four examinations. The GCE Ordinary Level has 98, 040 candidates while the GCE Advanced Level has 70, 749 candidates. For the Technical and Vocational Examination Intermediate Levels (TVEE), TVEE intermediate Level has 29, 063 while TVEE Advanced Level got 10, 909 candidates. In terms of gender, there are 117, 208 female candidates and 91 553 male candidates. The Centre Region has the lion share with 48, 775 candidates. It is followed by the Littoral Region with 47 866 candidates. In the traditional fief of the examination, South West Region is third with 46 084 and North West Region is fourth with 35, 292 candidates. The North Region is on the tail with 1, 868 candidates. For the GCE Ordinary Level, the examination starts with History I at 8 AM and History II at 1 PM.
