Mother’s Day: Sports Walk Against Violence

This was part of activities to mark the 2026 edition of Mother’s Day.
Women of the Douala I Subdivision under the Network of Women’s Associations of the Douala I Subdivision (RAFED), in partnership with Mulema Mua Ngome association, organised a sport walk on Saturday, May 30, 2026 to commemorate the 2026 edition of Mother’s Day. The sports walk, which took participants from CAMPOST Bonanjo to Salle des Fêtes Akwa, was used to denounce femicide, infanticide, and gender-based violence. The event also marked the culmination of a week-long programme of activities celebrating Mother’s Day. From May 25 to May 28, the women took part in a training workshop on entrepreneurship under the theme: “Bringing us together, Sustainable Empowerment, Health, and the Fight Against Gender-Based Violence.” For five days, participants were trained on different aspects of entrepreneurship, aimed at strengthening women’s economic empowerment.
