Alexis Dipanda Mouelle: Requiem Mass Offered In Yaounde

The Archbishop of Yaounde, His Grace Jean Mbarga led the liturgy of June 25, 2026 for the repose of the deceased statesman.

“Dear brother, rest in the bossom of the Lord, Amen," were the concluding words of the Archbishop of Yaounde, His Grace Jean Mbarga at the funeral mass of Alexis Dipanda Mouelle, former First President of the Supreme Court, who died on May 4, 2026 after an illness. In attendance was the Minister of State, Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Laurent Esso, representative of the President of the Republic, senior officials of the judicial, legislative and executive. The homily of His Grace Jean Mbarga had as theme, “The last judgement, drawing inspiration from the gospel of Matthew and Paul first letter to the Corinthians. With the deceased being a legal practitioner and someone who passed down judgements in Court, the Man of God said while humans judge actions, the Almighty judges the heart of mankind. He remembered the late Alexis Dipanda Mouelle as a human rights defender who protected the dignity of humanity. "We pray for this servant who returns to his creator, the love is created around him and his family and the tears he wiped through his actions," the presiding officer said.
