Staff of the Ministry of External Relations, the diplomatic corps and other officials have paid their respects to the former Ambassador of Cameroon to Israel, Jean- Pierre Biyiti bi Essam who died on April 23, 2026 after an illness, at the age of 76. Diplomatic honours were offered the deceased on July 3, 2026 at the Ministry of External Relations before departure to the South Region where he was buried over the weekend. External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella represented the Head of State at the homage paying event attended by several personalities, amongst them the Minister of Communication and the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps. At the Ministry of External Relations, he is remembered as someone who served the nation with loyalty. This is according to the tribute of the Secretary General of the Ministry of External Relations, Chinmoun Oumarou, who, while extending condolences to the family, notes that Cameroon and the Ministry share in their pain. For eight years (2018- 2026), the Secretary General noted that the deceased served as Ambassador of Cameroon to Israel, representing the country with elegance.
