Disarmament, Reintegration of Ex-fighters: Committee Maps Out Regional Strategies

Action plans for the Far North, South West and North West Regions are being elaborated based on community realities, for greater impact.

Within the framework of attaining set objectives of promoting peace, security and social cohesion, by reducing arms possession by the wrong people, the National Committee for Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration of Ex-fighters, has organised a workshop to validate regional strategies for the North West, South West and Far North Regions. Presided at by the National Coordinator, Fai Yengo Francis, on July 6, 2026, the objective is to improve its interventions in the three aforementioned regions expressing security challenges. As explained by the National Coordinator, the action plans align with regional realities, define implementation mechanisms, integrate gender and children concerns and strengthen partnership with actors. He added that gaps on the smooth putting in place of their different strategies will also be identified for greater results.
