Voter Registration: Ultimate Field Visits In View

Members of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon will in the days ahead carry out a final field mission prior to the annual close of the process on August 31, 2026.
As August 31 approaches, the date for which annual voter registration will be closed for 2026, members of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) will in the days ahead embark on a final visit across the ten regions of the country. The terms of reference of the upcoming field missions intended to galvanise actors and supervise the closure of the voter registration exercise was adopted during the second ordinary session of the Electoral Board for the year, held last July 1, 2026. As stated by the Chairperson of the Electoral Board, the mission is of particular importance, as it will enable members to assess realities on the ground, engage directly with stakeholders, and contribute to ensuring the quality, transparency and integrity of the ongoing electoral operations. Strides and challenges in the process will be examined and appropriate measures taken to ensure inclusive and maximum participation within well-defined operational procedures.
