Inclusive Development: Francophonie Young Parliamentarians Speak

The 11th edition of the Youth Parliament of the Francophonie is underway in Yaounde.
On the sidelines of the ongoing 51st Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of La Francophonie which brings together about 400 delegates and several heads of legislative chambers, is the 11th edition of the Youth Parliament of the Francophonie. The opening plenary of the youth parliament was chaired by the Senior Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Cameroon, Hon. Hilarion Etong, on July 6, 2026. Yesterday July 7, the youths worked at Committee levels and there is another plenary programmed tomorrow Thursday July 9. Hosted by the National Assembly of Cameroon, themes of reflection focus on peace, citizenship, climate change, inclusive development, multilateralism, and State sovereignty. Over 100 young delegates aged 18 to 25 are taking part in debates on the aspects of global issues and will cumulate with some recommendations. The aim is to promote representative democracy and acquaint young people from across French-speaking countries with parliamentary procedure. At the opening plenary, Hon.
