Leadership, High Patronage
The opening commission was chaired by Hon. Hilarion Etong, President of the APF and Senior Vice President of the National Assembly of Cameroon. Placed under the Distinguished Patronage of Cameroon’s Head of State, His Excellency President Paul Biya, the gathering represents a massive milestone for Cameroon’s parliamentary diplomacy. Over the course of the week, the legislative sessions will alternate between the halls of the National Assembly and the Senate.
Massive Global Representation
The scale of this year's assembly marks a strong return to active multilateralism within the Francophone zone. Organizers have confirmed a robust attendance of nearly 400 parliamentarians. Notably, the conference is emphasizing inclusivity and institutional continuity by integrating a distinct delegation of 100 young parliamentarians into the proceedings. They are joined by 15 heads of various international parliamentary chambers. High-profile dignitaries present include Louise Mushikiwabo, the Secretary-General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie, OIF.
