In Preparation for 2026-2027 Academic Year: Teachers Undergo Training

Some 50 educators and school administrators drawn from the South West and North West Regions are currently in Buea for a week-long bootcamp that ends this Friday August 7, 2026.

A cross Cameroon, educators face increasingly complex classroom dynamics, in­ cluding shifting students’ discipline, emotional burnout, and a growing need for character-driven formation. It is against this backdrop that an inaugural teachers bootcamp and school transformation leader­ ship programme is underway in Buea, South West Region. Since August 2, 2027, some 50 cohorts comprising of educators and school administrators from both the Ca­ tholic, Baptist, and Lay-Private edu­ cational institutions are being drilled on classroom culture transformation and leadership skills. Organized by the Transformation Leadership Aca­ demy (TLA) for Teachers, to embed sustainable leadership culture, emo­ tional resilience, and values-based education directly into secondary schools across the country. The Teachers Leadership Academy is leveraging three distinct co-equal partners notably Mendem Founda­ tion, Royalty World and Lead from the Heart to transform teachers, students and eventually the com­ munities. As one of the organizers, Doris Ngum, Executive Director of Royalty World explained at the start of the Bootcamp, the programme started in 2023 with students but it has today evolved this time to target teachers given that teachers are permanent culture carriers. It was also indicated that teachers have a daily interaction with hun­ dreds of students annually and can easily transform character, discipline and emotional habits of learners.
