Municipal, Legislative Elections: CPDM Fako Maps Out Victory Strategies

Their goal is to secure a landslide win for all parliamentary seats and municipal councils in the Division.

T he CPDM party officials in Fako Division on Saturday, August 8, 2026, aligned themselves with a strate­ gic machinery for the upcoming le­ gislative and municipal elections whenever they shall be announced. Convened by the Fako Permanent Divisional Delegation of the CPDM, the meeting in Buea which trans­ mitted directives from the CPDM Central Committee had one objec­ tive in mind; which is to secure a landslide victory for the parliamen­ tary seats and municipal councils across the seven sections of the party in Fako Division. Prof. Nalova Lyonga who chaired the meeting tasked the section executives to implement five stra­ tegic directives. First, there should be absolute internal cohesion and reassurance of the grassroots as a divided house cannot withstand external electoral pressure. Candi­ dates selections must be done through a rigorous process ensu­ ring the most popular, credible and best equipped candidates capable of defeating any political opponent in their respective constituencies are selected. The second is proxi­ mity politics and counter disinfor­ mation. They are to organize res­ ponsive and effective local commu­ nication units to maintain the conti­ nuous active presence on and offline. Thirdly, there should be strategic inclusion of youths and women to make key decisions concerning their peers. The fourth is on registration and political intel­ ligence.
