Bolongo Exploration Block: Partnership For In-depth Survey, Development

The State of Cameroon and Octavia Energy signed a production-sharing contract to this effect last Friday August 14, 2026 at the headquarters of the National Hydrocarbons Corporation.
T he Republic Cameroon has of ficially gone into partnership with Octavia Energy Corpora tion Ltd for the latter to carry out exploration and exploitation of hy drocarbons in the Bolongo Exploration Block, located in the offshore of the Rio del Rey Basin. The Acting Minister of Mines, Industry and Technological De velopment, Prof. Fuh Calistus Gentry, chaired the colourful and heavily-at tended signing ceremony of the Pro duction-Sharing Contract on Friday Au gust 14, 2026 at the headquarters of the National Hydrocarbons Corporation (SNH) in Yaounde. This was in the pre sence of Mrs Nathalie Moudiki, Second Adviser and representative of the Exe cutive General Manager of SNH, Mr Adolphe Moudiki, and Mr Ahmed Nabil Hayel Saeed, Chief Executive Officer of Octavia Energy Corporation Ltd, parent company of Octavia Energy Cameroon Sarl, among other personalities. It emerged from the different speeches and presentations at the ce remony that under the terms of the contract, Octavia Energy Corporation Ltd undertakes to execute a minimum exploration work programme over a maximum period of seven years. The initial period of the said programme lasting three years will be devoted to processing available seismic data and conducting geological and geophysical studies. This phase will be followed by two additional two-year periods, each including the drilling of exploration well. The financial commitment for all three periods stands at 41 million US Dollars (over FCFA 23 billion). Rejoicing over the fruition of the nego tiation that led to the partnership, the representative of the Executive Gene ral Manager of SNH said the operation falls within the strategy of valorising petrol and gas resources undertaken by the outfit to reinforce national energy sovereignty and to increase State revenue. While saluting the spirit of patriotism that prevailed throughout the negotiation phase, Mrs Moudiki promised SNH’s commitment to accom pany Octavia Energy Corporation Ltd as the company gets down to real field work.
