Bamenda: Some 150 Conscripts Ready For Community Service

They acquired skills during a one month training programme that ended on August 13, 2026.

One hundred and fifty young peo­ ple aged 17 to 21 have completed the 13th batch of the 30-day trai­ ning programme organised by the National Civic Service Agency for Participation in Development (NCSAPD). The closing ceremony was held at Government Bilingual Technical High School (GBTHS) Bamenda (Ca­ nada) on August 13, 2026, in the presence of traditional rulers, go­ vernment representatives, parents, guardians and members of the press. The training which began on July 15, 2026 brought together 65 boys and 85 girls from the North West Region. Participants were trai­ ned on civic and moral education, entrepreneurship, first aid, environ­ mental protection, physical fitness and mental well-being. Asonyu Frank, one of the conscripts, said, “I learned a lot du­ ring this training, especially time management, moral values, disci­ pline and first-aid practices.
