Presbyterian Church In Cameroon: Youth Drilled On Sexual Reproductive Health

Y ouths and members of the Christian Youth Fellowship of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon of the East Mongo South Presbytery on Saturday August 15 took part in a workshop on sexual reproductive health and sustainable development. The initiative of the All African Conference of Churches (AACC) is engaging young people in Cameroon on sexual and repro- ductive health, family planning and sustainable population growth. The programme which began in May and is expected to end in No- vember 2026, has already reached young people in Yaounde and Buea with plans to extend to other parts of the country, including Kumba, Bafang and the East Region. During the workshop in Douala, the National Coordinator for AAYC SPG_SRH training in Cameroon, Dr. Wunde Njineck, said Africa’s rapidly growing population, coupled with limited and diminishing resources, makes it necessary to equip young people with knowledge that can help families make responsible re- productive choices. He said the workshop was conceived following the All African Youth Congress held in Nairobi in 2025, where partici- pants identified the need to educate young people on sexuality while promoting sustainable population growth. He said the initiative is anchored on Christian and biblical values, with the objective of helping young people understand their sexuality and make responsible de- cisions that contribute to healthier families and communities.
