Mbôl International Festival: Valorising East Region’s Cuisine

The Mbôl International Festival, that be gan on August, 17, 2026 concluded on August, 22, 2026 at the National Mu seum in Yaounde. The festival aimed at promoting traditional dishes from the four Divisions of the East Region while encouraging younger generations to pre serve and appreciate their cultural iden tity. The promoter of the Festival, Ro lande Agonge, said, Mbôl remained the main attraction, alongside other traditio nal dishes such as “Kokor”, “Minkelimes san” and “Fiatantege”. She explained that the festival went beyond food exhibi tions, as it equally sought to empower women through entrepreneurship. According to Agonge, free training ses sions have been offered to exhibitors by experts in the business creation and ma nagement sphere.
