Mbôl International Festival: Valorising East Region’s Cuisine

The Mbôl International Festival, that be­ gan on August, 17, 2026 concluded on August, 22, 2026 at the National Mu­ seum in Yaounde. The festival aimed at promoting traditional dishes from the four Divisions of the East Region while encouraging younger generations to pre­ serve and appreciate their cultural iden­ tity. The promoter of the Festival, Ro­ lande Agonge, said, Mbôl remained the main attraction, alongside other traditio­ nal dishes such as “Kokor”, “Minkelimes­ san” and “Fiatantege”. She explained that the festival went beyond food exhibi­ tions, as it equally sought to empower women through entrepreneurship. According to Agonge, free training ses­ sions have been offered to exhibitors by experts in the business creation and ma­ nagement sphere.
