Good Governance: Encouraging Best Practices

The Office of the Public Independent Conciliator of the North West Region recently organised an outdoor sensitisation to faith-based organisations.

It was clear a message to Christians of the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Nkwen to ensure their full par­ ticipation as citizens in Council activities. A team from the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator for the North West Region led by Research Officer Yang Francis engaged the Nkwen CBC Christians fully in discussions aimed at improving participation and good governance in councils around the region. The discussions featured pre­ sentations, a question and answer session aimed at en­ abling the Christians to know their basic rights and res­ ponsibilities. The team from PIC enlightened the Christians on information relating to the creation and functioning of the Office, the role and responsibilities of citizens, councils regarding to development and complaints management procedure in the office of the PIC.
