Livestock, Fisheries: Improving Revenue Collection Discussed

The new national coordinator of the Securitization Programme, Nlengui Ngoue Pierre chatted with his collaborators in the West Region on September 10, 2026.

The national coordinator of the “Li­ vestock and Fisheries Revenue Secu­ ritization Programme”, known by its French abbreviation PSREP, Nlengui Ngoue Pierre Digenel, has told public accountants, public revenue collectors, and council treasurers, that the Pro­ gramme, setup by the General Direc­ torate of Taxation, is designed to se­ cure, track, and optimize the collection of state revenue generated from the livestock and fisheries sectors in the country. Nlengui Ngoue, was speaking in Bafoussam on 10 September 2026, during a contact visit to the West Re­ gion, to familiarize himself with his collaborators, after his appointment as national coordinator of PSREP. He said he thought it necessary to meet with them to create acquaintances, exchange professional views on how to improve on revenue collection in the sector. Nlengui Ngoue called on the various revenue collectors to mobilize the po­ pulation in the promotion of domestic resources, adding that the Government has continued to encourage domestic resource production, through tax break or incentives to local livestock produ­ cers. He further noted that it was ex­ ceedingly impossible to build an eco­ nomy entirely on imports or direct fo­ reign investments, quoting the impor­ tation of frozen chickens that has re­ duced tremendously to the advantage of local producers.
