South West: Disable Persons, Crafters Ready To Exploit Market

Buea (Fako) - A story of hope has emerged from a training session orga­ nized by the South West Regional De­ legation for Small and Medium Size Enterprises, Social Economy and Han­ dicrafts for disadvantaged persons and those in the wood sector. The training provided skills in soap making to persons living with disabilities. Vi­ sually impaired Shey Mary said a source of income had been brought to her door steps. Silvanus Penda Mofa said the skills in soap making will add to his cold store business thereby boosting his income. The exercise in Limbe, chief town of Fako Division, which ran for three days starting on August 25, 2026. It also built the capacity of those in wood sector on drying and finishing methods of wood and related trades. Eric Richard Wallang who drilled those in the wood sector said finishing can only be obtained when the woods are well seasoned. He expressed satisfac­ tion with those he trained and ex­ pects them to put the skills in practice in their various workshops.
