Fight against Corruption: Archbishop Kleda calls for Justice and Peace

T he fight against corruption, the promotion of justice and the pursuit of peace have been presented as essential values for building a better society. The message was made by the archbi­ shop of the Douala archdiocese His lordship Samuel Klede on Thursday September 24 as he visited the Award Gallery of Sir, Dr, Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle. The archbishop commended barrister Nico Halle for his achievements and continued commitment to serving society, attributing his accomplish­ ments to his faith in God. The im­ portance of placing the human per­ son at the centre of development and service was equally emphasi­ sed. The archbishop took time off to talk about corruption which he des­ cribed as a major source of des­ truction in society and an obstacle to healthy relationships and deve­ lopment. He used the opportunity to encouraged all to promote justice, resist corruption and contribute to positive change. He Noted that jus­ tice and peace are closely intercon­ nected, while reiterating that lasting peace goes beyond the absence of war or armed conflict. It also requires people to serve one another, respect human dignity and work for the common good. The visit to the award gallery was a moment for Nico Halle to reiterate his call for the proper management of Cameroon’s rich resources.
