Indomitable Lionesses: Exploring Home-Based Potentials

A nearly one-week training camp in Yaounde, organised to observe, detect talent and relaunch the team’s activities after their 2026 Women’s AFCON triumph, concludes today.

I n their quest to continue building a Cameroon wo men’s national team ca pable of winning more honours, the Indomitable Lio nesses’ technical staff have embarked on an observation and talent-detection exercise. This is being carried out through a nearly one-week training camp in Yaounde, which is expected to end to day, November 5, 2026. The camp at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre in Odza brings together 29 home-ba sed players. It is intended to assess their abilities, physical condition, tactical understan ding, and readiness to repre sent the national team. Ho wever, Lekié FF, which has several players who regularly feature for the national team, is currently involved in conti nental duties in Egypt as it participates in the CAF Wo men’s Champions League. An evaluation match, within the framework of the home- based Lionesses’ training camp, was scheduled on No vember 4, 2026, to enable the technical staff assess the strengths and weaknesses of each player. This camp also marks a relaunch of the In domitable Lionesses’ activi ties following their historic triumph at the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations, where Came roon won its first WAFCON title after defeating Malawi 3-0 in the final. This training camp is a posi tive step for the team. Fans are hopeful that more exer cises of this nature will be organised regularly...
