North West: Best Ngoketungia ICT Students Rewarded

Visiting Posts and Telecommunications Minister, Minette Libom Li Likeng inspires youths to develop potentials.

 

The nation’s digital inclusion project, conceived to inspire youths, was topical in Ndop, Ngoketungia Division, North West Region on August 3, 2016 with awards for students who excelled in Information and Communication Technologies- related subjects at the 2016 end-of course-examinations. The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng chaired the event during which the meritorious 72 beneficiaries were served Laptops, Tablets and computer science school materials. They qualified with excellent results to show at the GCE Advance and Ordinary Levels, BAC and Probatoire.

Minister Minette Libom Li Likeng challenged youths to join the ICT revolution for development or better still, develop potentials in the sector because it is promising. She advised youths to go beyond psychological barriers and promote quality use of ICTs in the conviction that digital inclusion is the set of policies and strategies that bridge the digital gap. The third lap of the Digital Matinees that took the Minister to Ndop featured a theme adopted to encourage and trigger greater interests in ICT- related subjects for all, especially those who are still lagging behind and especially young girls. “Digital inclusion: Challenges and Opportunities for the Youth” is the theme.
