The four-day exhibition at the National Museum ended yesterday May 18, 2017 in Yaounde
The exhibition fair organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education and other partners in prelude to this year’s National Day ended yesterday in Yaounde with some youth donating blood to save lives in hospitals. To these youth, it was their own way to contribute to nation building, promote unity and national integration in Cameroon.
Winifred Chenye from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education said three health units were mobilised for the blood donation operation by the youth. “We are in charge of preparing the blood donors before they donate blood. The donors were tested for eligibility to donate blood, before their blood was actually collected.
Nnoh Narceline, a nurse at Jamot Hospital said “we collect blood and do hemoglobin test. We also test the donor’s blood pressure before collecting the blood. Other tests like Heppatitis B, C, and Syphilis amongst others are also carried out,” she said.
