CERAC : Diplomatic Wing Equips Vulnerable Children

The event was a moment of communion between vulnerable children and members of the First Lady’s charitable association, on May 28, 2025.
On Wednesday May 28, 2025, members of the Diplomatic Wing of the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC) dedicated the first half of the day to vulnerable children among which orphans, children living with mobility disabilities, as well as the blind, deaf and dumb. These children, more than 50 of them in number, from some orphanages in the Mefou and Afamba Division in the Centre Region assembled at the head quarters of CERAC as early as 9:00 a.m. It was a ceremony to hand over donations to the orphans and vulnerable children by the diplomatic wing of the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC). The First Lady, Founding President of CERAC was represented at the ceremony by the Deputy General Coordinator of CERAC, in charge of the Diplomatic Wing, Marguerite Mbella Mbella.
The children, most of them physically challenged received didactic material, food items, medications, maintenance and cleaning products; and also equipment such as wheelchairs, white canes, braille machines and mosquito bed nets. Mrs Marguerite Mbella Mbella and her delegation also gave scholarships to some of the children. A sum of FCFA 2 Million was distributed amongst 30 children. The beneficiaries were overjoyed, through songs and dance thanked the First Lady and the Diplomatic Wing of CERAC for the gesture which is a beacon of hope for them. On behalf of the beneficiaries Laurence Ndzie, while reading a word of gratitude from her pairs using her braille tablet told the CERAC ladies “when you are an orphan, a vulnerable child, the path to becoming an adult is strewn with pitfalls. But, with your support, getting through the ordeal sometimes proves less difficult.” She said through the generosity and solidarity from CERAC ladies it will help them reinvent their lives and look to the future with optimism. “The substantial support we will receive is a breath of fresh air for us. We are very grateful to the Ladies of the Diplomatic Component of CERAC, Ndzie concluded.
Marguerite Mbella Mbella said the First Lady created CERAC to promote solidarity and help underprivileged children. She further explained that the Wives of Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Representatives of International Organisations, who share the same love for the underprivileged, joined Mrs Chantal Biya through CERAC to assist and strengthen the bonds of friendship between Cameroon and the international community.
