National Day Celebrations: Special Guests Appreciate Display

Both foreign and national dignitaries invited to the May 20 Avenue were captivated by the military and civilian parade.

As has been the tradition over the years, there are also some special guest invited by the President of the Republic and the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency. Once more, foreign dignitaries and nationals were invited by the Head of State to have a foretaste of Cameroon’s National Day celebration through a military and civilian parade. Some of the special guests are witnessing the march past for the first time while others have been invited on several occasions. For one thing, all the special guests were seated at the Presidential Tribune. Amongst the special guests for the 54th edition of the National Day was the Defence Chief of Staff of the Chadian National Army Forces, Lieutenant General Yangmayrubeh Felix. He is the Head of Delegation, accompanied by other four senior officials of the Chadian armed forces, besides the detachment of the Chadian National and Nomadic Guard. The Minister of National Defence of Chad, Issakha Malloua Djamouss was also a special guest. The smile on their faces could tell one thing; they were impressed by the National Day celebrations both at the May 20 Avenue and the reception offered at the Unity Palace by the Presidential Couple. To further make the Chadian Defence Chief of Staff and the Minister of National Defence special, they were amongst those greeted by the Head of State upon arrival at the Presidential Tribune as well as prior to his departure. During the military and civilian parade, the special guests had their eyes glued to the different persons who filled past before the Head of State in a display of total patriotism. The Lieutenant General equally watched with attention the marching style of the Chadian delegation.
