Cameroon will take part in the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which begins July 25, 2026, in Morocco; barely over a month away. That makes this tournament the first crucial litmus test for the new staff of the Cameroon senior women’s national team. Head Coach Valentine Nguele, team coordinator Dimitri Lipoff, and the rest of the recently appointed staff inherit a team whose recent results and performances have disappointed. Cameroon last participated in the women’s FIFA World Cup in 2019 and ultimately missed the 2024 Women’s AFCON. The Indomitable Lionesses were initially eliminated in qualifiers of the upcoming WAFCON.
