Voter Registration: Progress Evaluated

The second ordinary session of the Electoral Board held yesterday July 1,2026 with statistics presented and strategies appraised for the remaining period.

Members of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) have evaluated progress made in voter registration since operations commenced on January 1 this year. This was during the second ordinary session of the Board chaired by Enow Abrams Egbe, its Chairperson, yesterday July 1, 2026. The Board was meeting within its missions of supervisory, monitoring and evaluation responsibilities outlined in the Electoral Code. In the opening statement of the Chairperson, the session provides an opportunity to review the progress made since the previous session some three months back, identify challenges, and define the strategic orientations necessary for the effective fulfilment of the Board’s mandate. “Our deliberations focus, among other issues, on the implementation of the resolutions adopted during our last session, the examination of the Second Quarterly Activity Report presented by the Director General of Elections, the current status of the National Voters’ Registers, and the progress of voter registration operations nationwide,” he stated.
