A rtificial Intelligence (AI) is the latest computed-based technological. It has stra tegic stakes for sovereignty and a pillar of development with countries using it for research and innovation. Exploring this digital tool for national development was the centre of the cabinet meeting of July 30, 2026 chaired by the Prime Minister, Head of Government. To this end, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng did a presentation on har nessing artificial intelligence to boost strategic sectors of the economy (issues, challenges and prospects) with the Minister of Scientific Re search and Innovation, Madeleine Tchuinte underlining the strategic priorities for harnessing AI to foster innovation and optimise research. To the Minister of Posts and Tele communications, adopting AI is no longer optional as the Head of State has already made a choice on Ca meroon not being a passive follower. If not, it is other countries that will benefit the market for our data pro duced. During the cabinet meeting, we examined challenges and how to better organise to tackle this in novative technology. The conclusion is that we are already developing a national strategy of the development of AI and this strategy would be ethical and inclusive,” she said.
