Presidency Of The Republic: 146 Personnel Distinguished With Medals

I t was all ecstasy at the Ceremo­ nial Hall of the General Secretariat of the Presidency last Friday July 31, 2026 as deserving workers got adorned with diverse 2026 May 20 medals for services rendered to the nation over the years. In effect, the colourful ceremony concerned some 146 personnel from different services of the Presidency of the Re­ public. It was chaired by the Minister of State, Secretary General at the Pre­ sidency, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh. This was in the presence of other close aides of the Head of State, notably the Grand Chancellor of National Or­ ders, Philemon Yang, the Ministers, Assistant Secretaries General of the Presidency, Elung Paul Che and Mo­ hamadou Moustapha, Ministers of Special Duties at the Presidency, Phi­ lippe Mbarga Mboa, Paul Ghogomu Mingo and Benoit Ndong Soumhet, the Minister Delegate at the Presi­ dency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies, Bolvine Wakata and the Deputy Director of the Civil Cabi­ net of the Presidency, Oswald Ba­ boke. The ceremony, void of speeches, saw the officials taking turns to affix the Grand Officer of the National Order of Valour, Commander of the National Order of Valour, Knight of the Came­ roonian Order of Merit, Sports and Public Force Medals among others on the deserving personnel. They did so on behalf of the President of the Republic who is the Grand Master of National Orders. Reason why each of them repeated the phrase, “On the powers bestowed on us…we de­ corate you with this medal.” A phrase that got elated friends and family members of the recipients shouting for joy with photographers immorta­ lising the historic moment.
