U.S-Cameroon Economic, Commercial Dialogue: Preparations Underway

A head of the U.S-Cameroon Economic and Commercial Dialogue to be hosted by the Government of Came­ roon on August 27, 2026 in Yaounde, the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey, received in audience the United State of Ame­ rica’s interim Charge d'Affaires to Cameroon, John G. Robinson yes­ terday August 24, 2026. According to John G. Robinson, the in camera meeting foregrounded plans for the maiden edition of the economic and Commercial dialogue between Ca­ meroon and the U.S. “This is the first bilateral dialogue in this format that the U.S and Cameroon have had on economic issues. Having discussions around trade and in­ vestment is good for both of our economies,” John G. Robinson said. Coming at a time when Cameroon is making strides to enhance na­ tional sustainable development through the National Development strategy (SND 30) the forum pro­ mises a platform for stakeholders to discuss concrete ways to improve the business climate mutually be­ neficial for both Cameroon and Ame­ rican companies through the im­ provement of consensual specific trade and investment opportunities. “What is very important is that this dialogue is going to talk about areas that directly address Cameroon's national development strategy 2020-2030, as well as the U.S com­ mercial and diplomatic strategy, loo­ king at sectors including technology, finance, agriculture, and energy, amongst others,” John G.
