Vulnerable People: National Action Plan Consolidated

The 2016 session of the National Committee for the Re-adaption and the Socioeconomic Reintegration of People with Disabilities held in Yaounde on Tuesday October 4.

 

People living with disabilities face a lot of problems in society. Some of the problems faced are education, access to sports and leisure, accessibility into public buildings, and discrimination among others. It is in this light that the 2016 session of the National Committee for the Re-adaption and the Socioeconomic Reintegration of People with Disabilities (CONRHA) held in Yaounde on Tuesday October 4, 2016.

Speaking at the opening, the Secretary General in the Ministry of Social Affairs, Rosalie Aboutou said the promotion of national solidarity through the fight against social exclusion of vulnerable people amongst them disabled people and the taking into consideration of the contribution of disabled people in the policies and development programme is a major preoccupation of government.

The objective of the meeting was for members to finalise the document of the National Policy for the Protection and the Promotion of People with Disabilities as well as its plan of action. As specific objectives the members revisited the document for the promotion and ...
