GCE: Board Chair Takes Command

 Professor Tambo Leke Ivo was commissioned last Tuesday by the minister of Secondary Education.

The new chair of the Cameroon General Certificate of Education Board (CGCE) appointed by Presidential Decree last 29 January has taken up functions in Buea, headquarters of the South West Region. He is Professor Tambo Leke Ivo, native of Lewoh in Lebialem Division of the South West Region who replaces Professor Abety Alange.

Installing Professor Tambo Leke Ivo, 13 February, 2018, in the premises of the GCE Board headquarters in Buea, the Minister of Secondary Education, Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe urged the new authority of the education testing and certification body to help the children of Lebialem where he comes from to go back to school and stop bowing to calls of ghost schools.

In the same token, the Minister called on all education stakeholders to work towards getting all children back in classrooms in the backdrop of the North West/South West crisis.

Attendees at Professor Tambo’s installation ceremony included the Chief Executive of the South West Region, Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea, Professor Horace Manga, and a host of education stakeholders, traditional rulers and academic dons.
