Cameroon-African Union Sports Council : Host Agreement To Be Signed Soon

 A delegation from the African Union Sports Council was at the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education on March 15, 2018.

The Minister of Sports and physical Education Bidoung Mkpatt granted audience to a delegation from the African Union Sports Council with headquarters in Yaounde on Thursday March 15, 2018 in his cabinet.

Speaking at the audience, the Interim Coordinator of the African Union Sports Council, Lina Paul Kessy, said the purpose of the visit was to tell the Minister of the commitment of the African Union Sports Council to improve sports in Africa and to strengthen collaboration with the government of Cameroon. She said the government agreed to host the African Union Sports Council and that the host agreement will be signed in April 2018.

She raised issues pertaining to the daily administration of the organisation notably the All Africa Games. She said the African Union Sports Council is looking for a host of the Games which will take place in May 2019. Equatorial Guinea pulled out as host in 2015. She said the visit was an opportunity to talk with the Minister because he is in a position to talk with other Ministers so that a host will be found.
